KestrelMet Weather Stations & NEWA

Network for Environment and Weather Applications (NEWA)

NEWA provides science-driven and accurate data, so that producers can make informed decisions and reduce crop production risk.
-NEWA Mission Statement

The Network for Environment and Weather Applications (NEWA) is operated by the New York State IPM Program and the Northeast Regional Climate Center (NRCC) at Cornell University. NEWA collects weather data from selected weather stations located on farms to generate real-time weather data summaries, crop production tools, and IPM forecasts.

NEWA currently provides degree days summaries, crop management forecasts and insect and disease forecasts, and pest development models.

The KestrelMet 6000 AG weather station is fully compatible with NEWA’s agricultural production tools. Learn more about the KestrelMet AG NEWA weather station.
